How can we help you?

Notarisation & Electronic Notarisation

Notarisation

This is the process that a Notary Public performs to authenticate the signature or authenticity of a particular document.

Electronic Notarisation

While electronic execution and notarisation of documents will not work in all scenarios, especially in certain cross-border transactions, e-solutions are now possible in many areas.

Legalisation By Apostille & Consular Legalisation

Legalisation By Apostille

Documents for use in countries that are members of the Hague Convention on the legalisation of public documents ONLY REQUIRE legalisation by “Apostille” at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.

We offer two Apostille services options for obtaining an "Apostille" for documents to be used in these member countries, the Premium Same Day Service or the Standard Service.

Consular Legalisation

Some countries require notarial documents to be legalised by their own authorities. We can arrange for legalisation at all such consulates and diplomatic missions in London and occasionally elsewhere.

Notarisation & Electronic Notarisation

Notarisation

Documents which are to be used overseas often need to be prepared or certified by a notary. Notaries are authorised to prepare and certify many different types of document, to be produced in other countries. Every country has its own requirements as to how legal documents are prepared, executed and certified. As part of our service, we can advise on the varying formalities involved.

Once documents are certified by a notary, they may need to be apostilled or legalised by a consulate, please follow the link to each for more information. We may also be able to offer Electronic Notarisation in some cases and can advise on whether notarisation certification or electronic notarisation is an option for you.

Electronic Notarisation

By incorporating international standard electronic signatures with a multi-layered safeguarding approach we have added certainty while maintaining agility, in what is a rapidly developing area of international notarial practice. We sign our electronic notarizations using the internationally recognised official standard under the eIDAS regulation. The resulting “qualified electronic signature” is recognised as having the same legal effect as a handwritten wet-ink signature.

Legalisation By Apostille & Consular Legalisation

Legalisation by Apostille

Documents for use in countries that are members of  the Hague Convention on the legalisation of public documents ONLY REQUIRE legalisation by “Apostille” at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

We offer two Apostille services options for obtaining an “Apostille” for documents to be used in these countries, which we will discuss with you at the outset to help you choose the right option for you. What is right for you depends on your balance between urgency of delivery, control of the movement and security of documents and cost:

PREMIUM SAME DAY SERVICE – An Apostille service involving our personal delivery to the Legalisation Office in Central London, which we can provide as “registered users”. Documents sent to the FCDO by early afternoon on any working day should be returned to us before close of business on the same day.

The FCDO currently charge £75 for each Apostille issued in Central London for the PREMIUM SAME DAY SERVICE.

STANDARD SERVICE – An Apostille service where we arrange for the apostille stamp through the Legalisation Office in Milton Keynes. We have special delivery arrangements for legalisation by Apostille through the Milton Keynes Office that enable us to have documents returned within 20 working days.

The FCDO currently charge £30 for each Apostille stamp issued in the Milton Keynes Office for the STANDARD SERVICE.

Consular Legalisation

Some countries require notarial documents to be legalised by their own authorities, and the document must in these circumstances be presented to the consulate or other diplomatic representation of the country where the document is to be used. We can arrange for legalisation at all such consulates and diplomatic missions in London and occasionally elsewhere.
